Bigtime Design Studios is a Miami boutique hospitality design firm. If people gather there to eat, drink, sleep, celebrate or be transported, we want to design it.
Where our work comes from
Bigtime was founded by Callin Fortis, the developer and architect of the crobar brand, the venues that helped start the modern DJ era and put concept nightlife on the map from New York to Chicago to Miami to Buenos Aires. That background never left. Every Bigtime room is built like a story, with a point of view, a pulse and details people remember on the drive home.
The nightlife discipline runs through everything since. At Rain in South Beach, the client wanted a room that revolves around a pool we did not have, so we revolved inside the pool instead: an 80-foot inside-out floating ceiling feature. At Chop Suey in Fort Lauderdale, the architecture is street art: graffiti murals by named artists, picnic tables, festoon lighting, grit served indoors.
How we work
Brand and room are one thing. We call our method Marchitecture: branding, identity and interiors built together, so the logo, the room and the memory tell the same story. It covers strategy, graphics, custom furniture and lighting, FF&E, naming and the small details.
One project at a time. Full attention, no handoffs to a B-team, because there isn’t one. If it has our name on it, we were in the room.

- Commercial space. Brightline HQ and stations, Crunch Fitness, Forge Lofts.
- Bars and nightlife. B Bar, Rooftop @ 1WLO, Rain, crobar.
- Branding. Identity, naming and graphics.

- Five-time NEWH TopID firm: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2026. TopID is judged on the work, project by project.
- The Balfour Hotel: 2025 INT Award for Hotels.
- crobar New York: swept all five Club World Award categories it was nominated in, in 2005. New York magazine compared it to Studio 54.
- Cameo, Miami Beach: Club World Award for best interior renovation, 2008. A historic theater turned ground zero for Miami Beach nightlife.
- The Queue Residences: 2017 SFBJ Structures Award.
