Nightclub Construction; Miami
In June of 1999 we ascended on Miami Beach with a crew of qualified nightclub builders to pull off the most daunting task of the decade; to build CROBAR MIAMI. The problem with Miami is in its inherent transient nature. You need to check and double check all the references who claim to be who they think they are; in CROBAR MIAMI’S case the local’s where not whom they claimed thou through the experience a few true jems did appear in the last weeks to rally and get us open. In my case, i came to South Beach to design/concept and build a 90 day project with local talent and an out of town construction manager. In the final six weeks of the build i realized i would never get it done without a dose of midwestern ingenuity. I literally hired a caravan of experienced nightclub builders responsible for all of the most notable nightclub construction and nightclub design professionals in Chicago. Along with the three or four local guys whom i trusted and still trust they assembled three vans with twelve men to literally save the day and get us open. Waste not, want not.
