Brightline yesterday released renderings of its train station under construction at Orlando International Airport in Florida.

The private, intercity passenger-rail company released a video with renderings showing the outside design, main entrance, ticketing and luggage drop area and retail spaces. Expected to open later this year, the 37,350-square-foot station will be three stories tall, Brightline officials said in a press release. The station will feature two 1,000-foot-long track platforms, each of which can accommodate a train with four coaches and two locomotives.

Architecture firm Bigtime Design Studios designed the Orlando station. The firm also designed the recently opened Brightline Boca Raton and Aventura stations. Gomez Construction Co. is the contractor for the Orlando project.

The new station will be Brightline’s first in Orlando. When the station opens, the railroad will provide service between Orlando and Miami in about three hours.
