What do you get when you combine, award-winning nightclub design, unique high-style entertainment concepts, lifestyle design, and high-end concept development?

BIGTIME DESIGN STUDIOS

Bigtime Design was the studio was responsible for the concept development, strategic marketing, and world-renowned award winning nightclub design of crobar worldwide. Globally known for designing and branding the international award-winning brand of crobar nightclubs, Bigtime Design Studios has now taken their unique vision to the public.

Drawing from 20 years of experience in design, architecture and high end hospitality concepts, Fortis has set his sights on a much loftier goal - to combine, fashion, music, branding, and design into one package. The wheels are already in motion with the company's latest projects as interior architects for the Morgans Hotel Group's Mondrian on South Beach, a full scale re-branding of the UK's dance club mecca Gatecrasher, and a Best Interior Design award nomination for the Cameo Theater and a 2008 Club World award for best interior renovation.

His catchphrase for this unique melting pot is Marchitecture.SM

Whether re-branding an established brand such as Gatecrasher or designing a Florida Modern luxury residence, a common thread appears in all of Bigtime's work. Simply, there is sociology to good design. Whether dancing, shopping, eating or checking into a boutique hotel, Fortis finds that how people move through space, how they experience the journey, and how they interact with their surroundings - though at times ethereal - are all built on the same foundation.

Describing their unique design philosophy Fortis said, "People might ask what kind of social or political dislocation our designs represent. If you look around any significant design you will find that a successful space can be interpreted as a social and political monologue where each user reacts with whatever emotions he or she already possess. I encourage design to react with you, NOT to you."

BTDs is a collaborative studio, armed by a team of visionaries from the creative arts, architecture, design and nightlife marketing. It is this combination of resources that when focused on branded design, concept development and architecture, creates a story that is told and savored like a good book, page by page.

The process is simple. Create a lasting experience where the big things create the experience, yet the little things create the memory. For this Bigtime Design Studios is headed just there - the Big Time.

ORLANDO LAMAS R.A.

Lamas and Fortis have collaborated together beginning in 2003 with Lamas' work on crobar New York prior to Lamas venturing out on his own in 2004. Lamas is a registered architect with strong design sensibilities and an innate talent. He has worked for several prestigious architecture firms in south Florida before venturing out on his own with Fortis in 2007. They collaborated on many high visibility projects and realized quickly that the duo would ultimately be a dynamic team. Lamas' work in Europe gave way to an international flair to his work which can be seen in The Cameo, crobar New York and by currently heading up the re-branding of the national chain of Crunch Fitness Centers. He also lead the studio in his role as one of the interior architects on the Modrian Hotel, South Beach. His impact on the studio is felt by combining youthful enthusiasm with an architect's discipline where they create magic.   Lamas is now taking the studio down an entirely fresh unique and ambitious path. “Design sensibility is developed at an early age and should be fostered at an early age,” says Lamas. With that bold statement and vision, Lamas has helped create yet another unique and environmental approach to entertainment and design with www.daycaredesigners.com.
