Postcard Inn Resort - Hotel Lobby Design

Last week continued 2016s Year of the Awards for Bigtime Design Studios. We attended two award ceremonies featuring Bigtime projects. The NEWH South Florida Sofhie Awards and the ABC Excellence in Construction awards were held last Thursday and Friday.

NEWH is the premier networking resource for the hospitality industry, providing scholarships, education, leadership development, recognition of excellence, and business development opportunities. It’s about Scholarship, Education, and Business Networking. NEWH’s South Florida Sofhie Awards was held on Thursday, October 27th, at Jungle Island in the Treetop Ballroom in Miami, FL. The yearly event is held to honor the “remarkable and always exceptional leaders and designers in the hospitality industry.” The event also recognizes recipients of the NEWH Scholarship Awards that promotes scholarship, education and interest in the Hospitality Industry and related fields. The Design Awards portion recognizes firms for design excellence in various categories. Bigtime Design was honored with two design excellence awards in two distinct categories. The first, ‘BEST HOTEL DESIGN,’ recognized Bigtime Design for it’s design of the Washington Park Hotel. The second, ‘BEST RESORT DESIGN,’ recognized Bigtime Design for it’s design of the Postcard Inn Resort in Islamorada, Florida.

NEXT UP was the ABC (Associated Builders & Contractors) Excellence in Construction Awards. Bigtime Design joined Grey Marker of The Marker Group at the Broward County Convention Center on Friday, October 28th where the Marker Group was honored for Excellence in Construction for the renovation of Boatyard Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Bigtime Design Studios designed Boatyard Restaurant and worked with The Marker Group to see the project to its completion.

Earlier this year, Bigtime Design was recognized at the Restaurant & Bar Awards in London as a Shortlist Recipient for Boatyard Restaurant as well as a Finalist at the 2016 Hospitality Design Awards for its “Midscale Public Space,” The Postcard Inn Resort.
